How To Show Hidden Files And System Files In Windows Vista

Unlike previous Windows versions, Windows Vista has changed the way you can set windows explorer to show hidden files.

Here is a quick way to make Windows Vista show the hidden files:

1. First of all, you should close all the programs. While at the desktop (you should be there if all the programs and windows are closed) press the start button.

2. Click on “Control Panel” and you should be en either the Classic View or the Control Panel Home view. Do not worry as the difference is small and we will cover both views.

3. If you are in the Classic View, enter the Folder Options and click on the View tab. If you are in the Control Panel Home View go to Appearance and Personalization->Show Hidden Files or Folders.

4. Now you should go to “Hidden files and folders” and press on the “Show Hidden Files and Folders“. In addition, you should uncheck both the “Hide extensions for known file types” and “Hide protected operating system files“.
