If I remember, the launch of Windows Vista was also a reason for tons of hardware to pop-up in the stores.

Even if the laptops still had 512 MB RAM or small processors, too much under the minimum system requirements for Vista, they were sold Vista ready. Microsoft apparently didn’t learn anything from this.

I am using an updated RC of Win 7, is more that good, is way better than Vista and very close to XP, but it still has problems. It freezes frequently for about 30 seconds and I’ve tried all the solutions on web, forums. I think that the strategy behind this is to have a reason for the troubleshooting personnel to be paid.

Not everyone is in the market for a new laptop right now, especially since all laptops purchased since June get a free rebate to upgrade to Windows 7.

PC makers will ship new laptops on Thursday to coincide with the release of Microsoft’s Windows 7 in an effort to drum up excitement around the new OS.

Many have called Windows 7 the best and fastest operating system from Microsoft since Windows XP. PC makers intend to cash in on the hype surrounding the OS and improvements that include a snappier user interface, touchscreen support and better graphics capabilities.

The question is? Are you that lazy to buy a pre-installed rig with OS win 7 or just the software?

I suggest that it might be better to install an RC version of Win 7 to see if it worth it, that if you haven’t done it by now.
