AMD has announced a new six cores AMD Opteron EE. Providing a 31 percent improved performance per watt, when compared with the 4 cores Opteron processors released earlier, the six cores Opteron has been created in order to meet the customers need for solid performances.
Most customers that are in need of low power consumption processors, implements IT projects on a larger scale where the energy efficiency gets low with the performance increase and any modality of energy consumption improvement per watt offers an positive impact.

Smarter Choice
All AMD processors with low energy consumption have all the functions and also include the AMD-V and AMD-P technologies for advanced virtualization and capabilities to reduce the energy consumption.
At this point this 40W ACP processor is integrated into personalized platforms by Dell and HP, but also by other producers, being designated for the Wan and Cloud Computing IT infrastructures.

AMD Opteron Six Core
“It’s important for our industry to look at how technology is being used and where customers have emerging needs,” said Patrick Patla, vice president and general manager, Server and Workstation Division. “The AMD Opteron EE processor enables OEMs to deliver energy-sipping servers that don’t compromise on power management, virtualization or performance features. It is specifically designed to help address the challenges that are generating a great deal of discussion these days – building and running very dense data centers for Web services, while doing more with less.”
