It seems to me that NASA like to draw attention but it’s a good thing because all its projects are very expensive and they have to get revenue from everywhere it can. Today the Ares I-X Rocket will be launched and NASA is inviting people to attend the launch at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. It’s something very common even if the tickets are expensive, but this is not going to be a regular launch as this is a towering rocket which measures 327 feet.
The launch is going to be spectacular, but not similar to the one of a space shuttle because it will lift off the pad a lot faster than a shuttle. This is only a test flight and it’s going to last a mere two minutes, but it cost NASA $445 million. The Ares I-X rocket will be is scheduled to launch at 8AM EDT or 1200GMT from the 39B Launch Pad at the Kennedy Space Center.
If you cannot be one of the thousands attendees at the Ares I-X launch, then you can watch it like at NASA TV (find the link at the end of the post). You will be very happy to hear that the flight of the towering rocket will be visible from miles away where you don’t have to pay any tickets.
There is only a half an hour left until the launch so you’d better tune in at NASA TV right here. Enjoy your watch!
