FaceBook Password Reset Confirmation Email Comes Packed With Bredolab Trojan Virus
There is a new FaceBook virus in town, and this one is really dangerous! We’ve seen many people saying that there is no FaceBook virus, but you shouldn’t listen to this and always be careful on what you click! Do not open attachments in your Facebook emails, and only open emails from people you trust! OK, now that we cleared this up, let’s see what this virus is all about.
The virus is called Bredolab and it comes as a FaceBook Password Reset Confirmation email which says that you FB password was reset in order to protect you and that you can find the new password in the attachment. If you open the attachment then your PC will be infected with the Bredolab Trojan which will allow remote attackers to take control of your machine, steal personal data, and send spam emails to your friends in order to infect them too.
According to security experts, the servers of the virus are located in the Netherlands and in Kazakhstan. Bredolab is a Trojan which can download files from the Internet and execute them on your PC, it can bypass firewalls, and it can quit when an external program such as an antivirus software will check on it.
