Happy Halloween, well, maybe except for those who are in the group of people that are using modded Xbox 360 consoles. Microsoft just sent a very wicked “Happy Halloween” by banning a number of Xbox Live accounts for piracy. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed to IGN the fact that “we have taken action against a small percentage of consoles that have been modified to play pirated game discs.”

He went on saying that this move is just a following on Microsoft’s stand when it comes to piracy and the bans were random and not meant to spoil your Halloween evening. “All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs violates the Xbox LIVE terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox LIVE,”

Remember kids, stay in school! And afterwards you can get a good-paying job and afford all your gaming needs, unless you want to get banned!
