iPhone hacker George Hotz announced a few days ago that he will release an unlock for iPhone OS 3.1.2 on November 4th, however, today he posted an article on his personal blog which says that Blacksn0w as well as Blackra1n RC3 will become available at 12PM EST or 5PM GMT. First, he wants to see #blacksn0w become a trending topic on Twitter and then he will release the unlock for the 05.11.07 baseband for all iPhones. Thanks to Blacksn0w users will be able to use iPhone tethering on their iPhone 3.1.2 OS as well as other features.
GeoHot decided to release another version of Blackra1n; RC3 will come packed with hacktivation support, a 15-second speed enhancement, Tiger+PPC support as well as installation of the Blackra1n app (if you don’t have it already). Like aforementioned, nothing will be available for download until noon EST so you’d better make #blacksn0w a trending topic on the popular micro-blogging service Twitter.
If you still have the Blackra1n app on your handheld, then run it and you will see that Icy has been replaced by “Ra1n.” This will upgrade your Blackra1n app, and after this you have to run the app once again. Then you will see “Sn0w”. Just install Snow and your iPhone is unlocked! Sounds simple, right? Well, it’s as simple as that!
If you’ve never installed Blackra1n on your iPhone, then head over to Blackra1n.com, download Blackra1n RC3 for Windows or Mac OS X, run it, and click Make it Ra1n. After your iPhone will reboot, run the Blackra1n app, install Blacksn0w and your device will be unlocked.
If you have jailbroken your iPhone with PwnageTool or if you just deleted the Blackra1n app, then rest assured as Blacksn0w will become available in Cydia. Attention! In this case Blacksn0w will be released later than noon EST and you will have to check GeoHot’s website for more instructions!
An extra attention will have to be paid by iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd gen users who will have to use Cydia On File or Firmware Umbrella so that they can restore to iPhone OS 3.1.2 at some point into the future. Just be careful what you install and how you install if you need your device to be unlocked!

Hey my iphone is not reciving any calls with blacksnow it allows me to make calls but i cannot recieve any, when people call me all they hear is a busy tone. Is anyone havibg the same problem? Can soke one help me??
May I ask my Iphone was jailbreaking with prwntool but I just updated to 3.1.2 from Itune and now i am in Emergency Mode No Sim Card after updated my iphone to 3.1.2. What should I do now now? I dont have the original sim card. Can I use the new blacksnow tool to jailbreak again and ulock after? please help……Thank you

it doest work on my 3g. i dont get the picture of GeoHot when it goes pass the screen to plug into itunes when its in recovery mode, and when? it says its done on the computer the iphone stays in a black screen? i am jailbreaking on windows.

can I use blackra1n or ultrasnow on linux? i’m using ubuntu v9.10 (32 bit). is there a way to download either blackra1n or ultrasnow? thought this would be a good place to start.

I have an iPhone 3G, upgraded to 3.1.2 and tried to use blackra1n..it gets stuck on the black screen and never reboots..it says that jailbreaking is done n wait for reboot but it never happens..no geohot image….million times i ve done this…cure anyone?
The same thing that happened to JD happened to me and I can’t figure it out. Does anyone know what I can do if i get stuck on the reboot screen where geohot should but isn’t? It says it’s done but it never reboots, im very frustrated and would really appreciate it if you could help me out, thanks.
