Verizon’s Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris Google Phones Drop Date Is Today
We have been waiting for this day ever since the Motorola Droid was unveiled. It’s the day the iPhone dies. Not really, but Apple finally has a serious competitor on the US smartphone market. Droid’s drop date is today and it brings the HTC Droid Eris with it, the Verizon chin-less version of the HTC Hero. According to the latest industry information, Verizon is not going to support the iPhone, although it’s more accurate to say that Apple is not going to develop a CDMA version of the iDon’t at least for the moment therefore the Big Red should increase its interest in Android phones.
The Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid Eris are now listed at Verizon’s online store and there are no surprising things meaning that the former is available for $199.99 and the latter for $99.99 with a two-year commitment. If you don’t want a new agreement then you can opt for the unsubsidized versions of the Droid phones which are available for $559.99, respectively $469.99.
Well, if you are not going to buy this beauty online then head over to a Verizon store near you. It opens early in the morning at 6AM. If you are camping in front of the store, send us some proud pictures of you.
