The Motorola Droid is now available in Verizon stores, and we were disappointed to not see the same craziness as in iPhone’s case, but that’s life. For those of you who bought Droid or for those who are willing to buy it in the near future, you should know this: Verizon is going to charge $30 per month if you want the tethering option! Previous rumors claimed that Droid tethering will cost an extra $15 on top of regular data and voice plans, however, the Big Red will offer 5GB of data for your laptop for no less than $30.
Apparently, your Droid experience will prove to be a little too expensive, but that’s life when you want the coolest smartphone on the market! Well, not sure if this is the coolest, but you should check DroidDoes.com and see how Verizon and Motorola decided to introduce the handset.
Let us know if you’re getting the Droid and the tethering plan which is going to become available sometime in early 2010 after Verizon decides that the phone is capable of providing tethering.
