Google announced last week the release of some new search features to help music discovery. Now when you google your favorite artist or song, you will get an audio preview along with the option to purchase the song.

This new feature is made in collaboration with Lala and MySpace and it seems like Google really wants to promote their service, by offering exclusive tracks from popular artists. Today they announced exclusive tracks from Lady Gaga and Arctic Monkeys, of which Lady Gaga is extremely popular all over the world and will definitely help their service become more popular.

Unfortunately, this only seems to be a marketing stunt, because the “exclusive” tracks offered by Google are remixes to the songs, including Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi (Dave Aude Remix) and not original ones.

This may sound interesting, though if you get more in depth, they offer nothing that many people are interested of. Nice try, Google, but you failed this time.
