Many people like gossip and rumors about Apple, and I have to admit that Steve Jobs is doing a pretty good job in keeping consumers talking about his company. Now that he is sure that the Apple Tablet is a hot topic anywhere, somehow people started talking about the next-gen iPhone. Last year we’ve heard talks about a so-called iPhone nano, a smaller iPhone that was supposed to hit Verizon’s shelves. The device has yet to make an appearance, however, industry sources now claim that the iPhone nano will become available in Q3 2010 and it feature both UMTS/CDMA radios.
If the iPhone nano is indeed under development, and if it has a hybrid radio inside, this means that it will come to both Verizon and AT&T subscribers, as well as to T-Mobile and Sprint customers. That would be a good thing considering the fact that the carriers will provide incredibly good deals just to make sure that they win the war.
The rumored iPhone nano will feature a 2.8-inch screen, and it will be manufactured by Pegatron, not the current iPhone maker called Hon Hai. Apparently Apple doesn’t want to be put under pressure by one producer and it’s a different project so it’s better to work with different makers to avoid any troubles.
At the moment there is not hard evidence to show that the iPhone nano with hybrid UMTS/CDMA radio is coming, but it would sound if it featured multitasking and everything that the Droid Does and iPhone doesn’t.
