5 Years Of Mozilla Firefox In Images

Firefox users, it’s time to celebrate! Your favorite browser, Mozilla Firefox, is now five years old. One might say that it’s quite smart and sturdy for such a fragile age, but you will have to thank the developers, the guys at Mozilla for the way they raised it.

Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (codenamed Phoenix) was released for the general public on November 9, 2004 and was a huge success from the beginning. There were two projects that led up to Firefox, called Phoenix (basically Firefox 0.1 to 0.5) and Mozilla Firebird (basically Firefox 0.6 to 0.7.1). The 0.8 version was the first one to carry the Firefox name.

In this article we will show you how Firefox evolved visually, with screenshots from the Phoenix version up until the latest version of the browser, Mozilla Firefox 3.5.5.

First, let’s take a look at how the logo evolved during this period:
