Google Go, as it is called is an open source programming language that takes a whole new approach to object oriented programming and that is designed to help programmers in their software creation by making their job… easier.
At the moment, Google Go is only in an experimental phase, but with big names behind it such as Unix co-creator Ken Thompson (he is only one of many), the big expectations seem to be properly founded.
Google Go is similar to C/C++, but implies a huge list of new ideas and modern features. The Google Go programming language will also be a versatile one and it could be used inside a Web browser.
So there you have it: it’s open source, it will try to make programming easier and software faster by using the multicore features in today’s processors. With the rate of success Google had with its new eneavors, it’s quite likely that Google Go will become, over the years, as important and as commonly used as Java is today. For more information visit the official Google Go “golang” website here.

Go! language would like to cover a vast range of technologies from software system design to web applications development. This looks like Go is gonna to become an universal programming language.
Without any exposure to it, and right after the initial announcement, you’ve decided that this will be as important and wide-spread as JAVA? Seriously? How on earth could you know that?
Don’t get me wrong, there are very few Google projects I’ve disliked… but that’s reaching a bit.
Cheers!
