How To Install Google Maps Navigation On Your G1

It’s basically a tradition now: all Android 2.0 handsets released on the market comes with Google Maps Navigations incorporated which is a very good thing, but what about those who have a G1? I`m sure you know that the new T-mobile G1 has some problems whit the GPS. It seems that is actually off by default and when you when you try to find yourself on Google Maps the GPS provides you a very inaccurate location.

You shouldn`t desperate because we found the solution for hacking Google Maps Navigation, so here`s what you need to do:

  1. First of all you have to check if you have CyanogenMod 4.2.3.1
  2. Then you must download this file.
  3. Unzip zip to desktop
  4. Run Part 1.bat
  5. When prompted to press any key, do so; after that the phone will reboot
  6. When your phone is on again, run Part 2.bat
  7. When prompted to press any key, the installation process is done
  8. Then you have to make sure GPS is enabled
  9. Open Maps and press OK button
  10. Press Menu
  11. Press Directions
  12. Enter an end point
  13. Click Go
  14. Just under “Show on map”, click Navigate.
  15. When prompted to install the voice codec, do so.

After that, the only thing you have to do is enjoy you Navigation System. Good luck!
