Microsoft Office 2010 Beta ready to download
The known productivity suite from Microsoft is available to download in Beta stage. The new version of Microsoft Office, known as Office 14 or Office 2010, comes with a new look, comes with new functions , now includes the option to save documents in the new ODF ( Open Document Format) and PDF , feature unavailable on previous versions of Office 2003 and 2007. For 2007 this feature is available in the Service Pack update.

As features: Word offers the new “backstage view,” which replaces the old File menu, PowerPoint brings the new “broadcast slideshow” feature, allowing you to beam a presentation to any connected PC with a one-click interface, Excel adds some smart enhancements like automatically shading the highest numbers in a given chart, and Sparklines. The biggest change is SkyDrive, Microsoft’s online storage, now includes what’s essentially the Office take on Google Docs. With any version of Office 2010, you get 25GB of storage space.
The new product will come in two versions: the full version and the starter versions with limited features , and will come free with many new computers.
Office 2010 will be released sometime in the first half of 2010.
For download is available on Microsoft websites: MSDN and Technet, with subscription.

I personally tend to favour SSuite Office’s free office suites. Their software also don’t need to run on Java or .NET, like so many open source office suites, so it makes their software very small and efficient.
