Are you a smoker? And are you using anything from Apple? If your answer is yes, you should find out that you might be denied from the AppleCare coverage system.

Yes, I am not telling stories. According to some reports the cigarette smoke is considered to be a biohazard and the technician would be supposed to repair the defect items might generate health problems. Therefore the OSHA regulations are strictly forbidding workers to get in contact with “contaminated items”.

Recently, 2 cases like this were reported. Even if the cigarette smoke didn’t affect at all the Mac, their owners were denied from the AppleCare coverage system.

Thy case represents a dangerous precedent in the history. Even if the Apple officials say that not every smoker who uses a Mac will be denied from the AppleCare coverage system, this thing might repeat quite often, under the pretext of respecting the OSHA regulations.
