I`m sure that you are all aware about the war between the two big giants: Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Everybody admitted that Microsoft`s plans for the new IE 9 were very, very attractive (plans such as: including an Direct 2D GPU acceleration, an 2D/ vector graphics API that we saw, of course, for the first time at Windows 7), but I don`t know how, Mozilla programmer Bas Schouten managed (over the weekend) to load successfully into an alpha build of Firefox -3.7 an Direct 2D support.
In other words Mozilla loaded the Direct 2D support before IE although it just announced its plans to load the Direct 2D support into Internet Explorer 9. (what could we say, but : We live in a harsh world.)
Now Schouten` s major concern is the fact that older PCs with pre-D3D10 graphics cards and WDDM 1.0 divers won`t see such important differences.
