Verizon Follows AT&T’s Footsteps And Complains About Sprint’s America’s most dependable 3G network Ad
Sprint, the Overland Park, Kansas-based carrier is now in Verizon’s role as the latter has filed a complaint against the former for the “America’s most dependable 3G network” tag in their ads. I remind you that a few days ago AT&T complained that Verizon is falsely leading people into thinking that the company doesn’t offer wireless service in a big part of the country.
The court ruled in Big Red’s favor and told AT&T to stop moaning over the “There’s A Map For That” ads,but now Verizon is complaining to the The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus about Sprint’s “America’s most dependable 3G network” tagline which can be seen in the latest commercial.
In a survey recently conducted by Nielsen, Verizon shows its network drops fewer calls than Sprint’s, and bureaucrats also agree, therefore the NADCBBB board asked Sprint to stop airing the ads. On the other hand, Sprint contradicts the survey cited by Verizon, saying that a study may not fully reflect the reality, and intends to show us the ads while it appeals to the National Advertising Review Board.
I am looking forward to see which one of the two companies will be the winner in this case, but if it were to follow the directions from the previous case then Sprint might have the edge over Verizon.
