Nintendo DS Lite Already Sold Out At WalMart On Black Friday 2009

One of the best deals at WalMart was the $98 Nintendo DS Lite which was available in multiple colors. However, if you are thinking to buy one, then you should know that the portable gaming device is now sold out at WalMart. We’d expect WalMart to refill its stock, but that’s not going to happen. Maybe tomorrow? I think not, meaning that you’ll have to wave goodbye to this online deal. Don’t be too disappointed by this fact as Amazon is charging $129.99 for this product. So you lost $32 on this one, but you can find other great deals on other major retailers, or you could head to the nearest WalMart store and see if there are some units left. It’s worth trying!

On a side note remember to let us know what you bought on Black Friday 2009! Where you bought from, what did you miss, and if Black Friday 2009 was good or bad for you!

  1. Natasha says:

the sale started at 5:00. i was at the store at 5:04 and i went to buy the ds lite and it was sold out.

  2. Tassa says:

I am so frustrated! I was online at both 12am AND 5am and the DS Lites were NEVER available!!

  3. bek says:

It was advertised as being available online or in store and I was up at 5 minutes to 5am. The DS lite was NEVER up for sale online I checked and rechecked for the first 30 minutes past 5a.m.

  4. bek says:

A friend just told me that since walmart was open at midnight, people were buying prior to 5a.m. . THe store workers were running around pulling the DS’s out of peoples carts as much as they could but I am sure that some or most were purchased before 5:00.

  5. Lisa says:

The DS was never available online! This was a horrible lie which kept me up half the night. Shame on you, Walmart!

  6. Becca says:

I got to the walmart in vernal, ut at 4:55 am, I got my ticket for the DS Lite and got in line behind probably 200 people. I got 2 of the last 4. This was my girst time ever out on Black Friday and I got lucky, needless to say I didn’t stick around to get anything else. Paid for them and was out of the store by 5:25.

  7. Jen says:

I’m not sure why people thought the DS Lites would be available on sale from walmsrt.com. The flyer I got in the newspaper yesterday specifically said that the doorbuster deals were NOT available at walmart.com and they were only available in limited quantities. That being said, I got in store at 4:45 AM and there was one left. I plan to complain to the manager that they were being sold early and see what they will do for me. They were in a locked case, so you know it is absolutely the fault of the employees because they had to actually hand them out.

    • Tassa says:

Both Walmart.com and the online “local ad” said that the DS would be sold in stores and online. If they weren’t ever going to make it available online, they should’ve said “in-store” only. Why get people’s hopes up, just to dash them? Now when I go to pay full price for a DS, I won’t be buying it at Walmart!

    • bek says:

If you had paid attention online… It DID say that the DS lites WOULD BE available ONLINE> We are not just a bunch of idiots…

  8. Monica says:

What happens is that people buy it for reg price then go back and get a refund for the difference in price. Last year saw the tv we wanted went to the store to check it out. The sales person advised us to do it that way”to be sure to get what we wanted” we didnt went at 5am first one in and they were all gone.

  9. todd says:

We logged onto walmarts site at 440am and the $248 emerson tvs that were supposed to go on sale at 5am to 11am ONLY as stated multiple times were already sold out. That wasn’t fair to those paying attention to the rules to say the least. I wonder if walmart will even accept blame for that. I was mad to say the least… any way around this?

  10. TheseFights says:

Stop complaining. If you REALLY wanted it, you should have gone to Walmart at 1 or 2 am and WAITED in line like everyone else. I waited in line for 3 hours, so if I didn’t get something I can complain, but I did get what I wanted because I got my butt outside in the cold and out of bed instead of sleeping. :P

Boohoo you had to get up for half an hour and there was nothing. Get over it and actually go to the store next time. Also, don’t show up 5 minutes before 5 am, that’s just dumb.

    • todd says:

Dumb? The ad stated they would be sold online as well and that the sale started at 5am… so doing what we chose to do is completely legitimate and its Walmarts bad for not holding up their end of the deal by having tvs on sale for online shoppers. If I have to go to the store and sit outside in the cold for hours like an idiot in a horde of idiots to get the tv then don’t list “in store and online” in the circular because it isn’t true. Simple as that. By all means, your actions are dumb, not ours who were simply following what we were told to expect. Thanks for adding to the discussion though kid.

      • TheseFights says:

I don’t understand why they said it was also an online deal, but seriously, if you barely put up any effort to get what you wanted you can’t complain much, Walmart was just trying to hype up their sale I guess.

People wait for hours to get those deals, so I’m sure no one would be at the store if everything was online. I wouldn’t expect to get what I wanted by logging onto their site, when people are waiting for hours to get the same thing. It makes no sense, so I just went to the store. No complaints. :]

        • MNGal says:

I’m seeing everyone say that the DS’s were to be available online at 5:00 a.m. Everywhere I read, they were on sale online starting at 3:00 a.m EST (2:00 A.M. CST, etc). That might be part of your problem. I went online at 3:00 a.m. and it appeared to me that they were sold online as they were just listed as “out of stock” and prior to today they were only listed as being available in-store. Anway, I agree with the theory that if you can’t get up and get in line to get one, you dont have much to complain about. It’s $30.00, nothing to get so upset about. Pay the extra $30.00 and get a good nights sleep, or get out of bed early and get to the store, get in line early and get the product.

          • Tassa says:

I tired at 3am EST as well — they were never “in stock.” I am not upset necessarily that I didn’t get one at $98 (it would have been nice), it’s just that Walmart should have explicitly said “in-store only” if they weren’t going to become available online. I’m upset that they weren’t truthful in their advertising.
I wasn’t willing to stand in line and fight the crowds… It’s worth $30 price difference to NOT stand in line (for me at least).
If they Walmart had been up front from the beginning, I wouldn’t be upset… But to stay up all night and not even have the CHANCE to get one is wrong.

  11. TheseFights says:

I actually didn’t get the DS, I got a camera and saved over $80, plus I had people watch my cart so I could walk around and buy more stuff. Going to the store isn’t really THAT bad. You just have to get there early. :P

  12. Les says:

Got to walmart (24 hour location) at 345 am and left with a ds at abou 515. The employees must have made some error because I got mine directly out of the case after seeing someone right in front of me grab about 4. Apparently some people had been there in line since 11pm but I assume all the ds lites were sold out at that point. My first BF experience, guess I got lucky!
