Ok, so in the past ten days, HTC has released two notable updates for the HTC HD2. This is why we thought it’s good idea to tell you a little about them, as well as provide the download links.
The first update for the HTC HD 2 was released on December 10 and is camera-related. The update is officially called the HTC HD2 Digital Picture Enhancement. According to the official HTC website, it provides extra clarity to the pictures taken with the camera. If you feel you just want a little more from the HTC HD 2 camera, this update may be exactly what you need. Click here to download it.

The second update released by HTC for their HD 2 smartphone is called the “SMS Function Update”, and promises to deliver faster SMS messaging for the text freaks among you. This update was released on December 15, 2009 and can be downloaded here.
Ok, now that you’ve got the executable files for the updates (or update, if you want to install only one of them), let’s talk about how to actually perform the update.
How to install the HTC HD 2 Updates
First of all, you need to talk about the Windows version your computer is running. Windows XP users will need to have downloaded and installed Microsoft ActiveSync, while Windows Vista and Windows 7 users need the Windows Mobile Device Center. Since that’s out of the picture, you also need to connect your HTC HD 2 smartphone to the computer and synchronize you device.
Note: We know Windows live is a pain in a sensitive place, and that, unfortunately, the HTC HD 2 has a lot to suffer from the OS it’s running on, but that can’t be changed (again, unfortunately).
All you have to do is download the update (the links above are from the official HTC website), copy the executable files on your smartphone and then run the files from the device. Detailed instructions will be given by the updates as the install is performed. Follow these instructions and you will have successfully performed an update for your HTC HD 2.
Please come back and tell us if you noticed real improvements in the way the phone works.
