Apple`s iPhone surpassed in numbers Windows Mobile devices in USA
For the first time, iPhone overtakes Windows Mobile, according to measures made by companies who measure the market share of the smartphones. Measures were made by IDC who watched the number of units shipped from manufacturers, than Gartner that measured the units sold to consumers, and comScore that surveys the number of devices in use. The results displayed, are for different periods of the year and they show how the smartphones powered by different operating systems evolved.
The diagram reveals that Microsoft is losing ground in front of Google`s Android OS, the new come in the market, which has a fast growth, since is being adopted by phones manufacturers. People are re-orientating to Windows Mobile alternatives, seeking for products that are superior from all points, and leaving behind an OS that even after a major update is rejected in some was by people.
Android devices, iPhone, RIM won the battle for the market and Microsoft lost in front of relatively new names in the phone market: Apple, Google. Perhaps Windows 7 Mobile will change the things, but until that moment competitors won`t wait and they will be one step ahead.
