RIM ( Research in Motion ) ( NASDAQ: RIMM ) has just reported the Q3 results for 2009, which ended on November 28.

Their revenue for this year’s third quarter was $3.92 billion, up 11% from the last quarter and 41% up from last year’s third quarter. Last year, they have had a revenue of $2.78 billion, while last quarter their revenue was $3.53 billion. Their revenue came mostly from devices, with 82%, then services with 14%, software with 2%, other revenues with 2%.

RIM sold about 10.1 million devices this quarter and more than 4.4 million Blackberry subscribers were added this quarter, totaling for approximately 36 million.

Research in Motion’s ( RIMM ) net income was $628.4 million for this quarter, meaning $1.10 per share. Analysts expect a revenue of $4.2 – 4.4 billion for the last quarter, with a gross margin of approximately 43.5%. Also they are expecting up to $1.23 – 1.31 in earnings per share and 4.4 – 4.7 million more subscribers.
