Motorola Droid gets hacked with WiFi tethering, thanks to “webacoustics”

As you all know, not long ago, some brilliant guys has already made the USB tethering possible, but as of today that so called “Droid does” list has become more richer with Motorola`s WiFi tethering. I don`t know how but a user (aka webacoustics) from droidforums.net managed to built (of course with the help of Android wi-fi Tether project) a custom image of Android 2.0.1 to make the WiFi tethering work.

Unfortunately, this procedure implies some risks, because you will have to root your Droid, install a custom kernel and then install that custom image, which could end tragically, in case your phone stays on with the white Motorola logo for longer than 2 minutes.

If you want to find out more info about the Wifi tethering or the installation procedure then you should follow the official guide from DroidForums.
