The Christmas is gone, now let`s get back to work. The first article is about T-Mobile G1, the first phone with Google Android, which might get a major firmware update. Since it appeared with 1.0 version, G1 did not receive any update or any kind of improvement. Both updates Android 2.0 and 2.1 are tested to see which behaves better and it seem that some people are very fortunate already having devices up to date.

For the moment, nothing can be released due to Non-Disclosure reasons, but we already can assume that G1 will work better, will be faster, the management of the battery will be improved and new apps will have an extended compatibility with G1 when will get the update.  The result is predictable after the update, if we look to the smartphones that were updated by manufacturers.

Thanks to AndroidSPIN for this news that will make very happy the owners of the devices, which may believe that they have been forgotten, if we look that newer devices were updated and G1 was left behind.

  • Hi, nice article but G1 has had several major updates since it came out unlike your story states. It went from 1.0 to 1.5, to 1.6 and hopefully the 2.0 or 2.01. Thanks. 8)
