Burj Dubai Skyscraper: Tallest Building In The World Opens Its Doors Today

Dubai is opening the tallest building in the world today after the construction was completed last year on October 1st. It took a while to add the final touches to the Burj Dubai, but we think it was worthwhile as tourists around the world visiting Dubai can now enter the 818-meter tall building and probably struggling not to look down. The Burj Dubai skyscraper is more than 160-stories high and it’s more of a vertical city rather than a structure as you can find everything there (I didn’t get the opportunity to check, but I think there’s a small sports stadium as well).

Although the crisis doesn’t seem to be over in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai received about $25 million in 2009 from Abu Dhabi in order to clear its debt and complete the tallest building in the world, Burj Dubai. The construction cost more than $1.5 billion and if you find yourself in Dubai then you can head over to the opening ceremony. I remind you that the construction started on September 21st, 2004.

I wouldn’t want to be a window cleaner at Burj Dubai, but if you have some screenshots from above please send them to us so we can see what we’re missing.

  • I have a phobia going up to tall buildings.
However, looking at the structure and design of
this tower, it is very comforting because it
does not look as tall as it is. It has a welcoming
appeal like a castle or a church too. At least, the sight does not scare me off.

Frankly, as I am typing this email, my hands
    perspire profusely.

When I am in Dubai, I am not sure I dare to go
right up to the top floors.
