The new year comes with surprises for Facebook users, and some  experienced with the redesigned interface of the social network.  The Profile page got a new look, the search bar has been moved from the right to left-center and the navigation bar is simplified; login/logout and Settings were combined in a single dropdown column.  By repositioning the search bar, Facebook is anticipating a future growth in search area in the social network for brands, events, companies and celebrities.

Combining the items listed above, login/logout and Settings, it`s aimed to simplify the interface and to provide a faster access to different functions of an account.  After login, all issues are listed on three columns. On the left side are put  links and functions that are usually accessed in most of the time: News Feed, Photos, Events, Groups, Notes, etc.

In the middle, it is displayed the content available in different sections : updates, news feeds, access to virtual friends and many more.  The right column was designed to focus on social interaction: friend requests, invitations to different events, suggestions from Facebook, requests to join on some applications and a big box where users may enter email addresses to connect with others.

At a first look new Facebook looks better and it`s very functional compared to old interface, but now we`ll see if heavy Facebook users will accommodate with the redesigned website.
