CES 2010: Toshiba`s ZX900 CELL TVs, soon available in US
With ZX900 Cell TVs, Toshiba will be probably in the head of 3D TV revolution. At CES 2010 Toshiba presented two 55-inch and 65-inch TVs, where the company integrated the best technology available to deliver a premium TV with astonishing capabilities. ZX900 Cell TV combines CELL Engine processor, which has a 143 times processing power than an average TV, with KIRA2 Super Local Dimming LED Display, a display technology that doubles the brightness of the screen at a lower power consumption at an amazing 1,000 cd/m2 brightness.
KIRA2 display is divided in 512 controllable zones for a good handle of black levels, creating an impressive 9 million: 1 Dynamic Contrast. Also to playback3D content ZX900 Cell TVs, use a Frame Sequential System that switches from 240 Hz in 2D, to 120 fps to right eye and 120 fps to left eye in 3D. To make easier the access of video content Toshiba featured this TVs with: 1TB hard-drive, BD Player, an 802.11n Wi-Fi card and an Ethernet Port.
High value content was added to improve the media experience, by targeting web video platforms like: Netflix, Vudu, CinemaNow, Pandora, and many others. Because the demand for video calls over IP protocols is very high, Toshiba added Video Phone capability, using high processing power of CELL processor to provide high-quality images.
For the moment this amazing toys will be shipped only in US. Nothing is known about the price or about the date when ZX900 Cell TVs will be available in retailers offers.
