With all the attention directed towards the Apple Tablet, we kinda ignored the next-gen iPhone which will probably become available at in mid-summer. The new set of rumors comes from analyst Robert Chen, Goldman Sachs Group, who says that the software of the handset will be innovative, while the hardware will get a significant upgrade consisting of a 5-megapixel camera among other features. According to Mr. Chen, the iPhone 4G will also come packed with a plastic casing just like the recently released Magic Mouse.

Frankly, I don’t think this is big news because you don’t have to be a genius to assume that along with the next-gen iPhone, a new version of the iPhone OS will be released. Also lots of users are choosing Android over the iPhone because of better cameras hence a significantly improved camera is a must. If Apple wants to really destroy Android (when it comes to the camera) then a 8-megapixel one with HD recording capabilities. That would be impressive.

In conclusion I have to add that one of Apple’s spokesmen said that the company won’t comment on rumors, but that’s not unusual. Apple likes to leak information and leave others to do the talks.
