Mozilla drops Firefox 3.7 update, focuses on Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 updates
You probably noticed that Mozilla releases security updates and minor bug fixes separately from major improvements and currently they were preparing to release the Firefox 3.6 and 3.7 versions. Unfortunately, the Firefox 3.7 has been dropped and it’s not getting released too soon, but the Firefox 3.6 should be available for download soon, as the RC1 ( Release Candidate 1 ) is already available.
Hopefully, this will make Mozilla’s developers more efficient on their Firefox development, releasing more security updates and bug fixes for the current versions. Both Firefox 3.6 and 3.7 should have come with major improvements and new features, though it seems like they prefer making current version better than releasing new unsafe versions.
Mozilla firefox 3.6 will have some all-new features and improvements, like:
- Easier one-click appearance change using personas.
- Better and more stable third-party software integration.
- Support for the WOFF font format.
- Faster startup and better JavaScript performance.
- HTML5 support.
- Support for new HTML5, DOM, and CSS web technologies.
