MSI Android Netbook

Computex 2009 is just around the corner and this year it should come with some great surprises for consumers. The Taipei computer expo is aka the Taipai International Information Technology Show, and rumors are pointing that MSI is planning to unveil an Android-based netbook. Last year at Computex 2008, we have seen a lot of XP-based netbook with Atom processors, however, as of this year it should be Android’s turn to draw all the attention.

Recently, we noticed that there is a netbook-mania, and it looks like the Google Android-mania is about to start. Just imagine how great would be an Android-netbook-mania? Well, yesterday we have presented you world’s first Google Android Netbook, the Alpha-680 which should cost around $100.

Although not a single major company announced an Android netbook, we already know that Acer, Asus, Dell, and HP have tested Google’s OS on their netbooks, however, so far Windows XP has won the battle as Microsoft wants only $15 for each XP-based netbook. It seems like all major netbook manufacturer are not willing to experiment too much with Android therefore it is very likely that we will see netbooks running XP for a very long time.

I think that big companies should really think about this and replace XP. Why? Simple: because consumers are getting tired with XP. It’s ugly, it runs slow, it’s glitched, and it costs $15 while Android is free and during this recession every penny counts. MSI and all others just re-consider this as it’s about time to start using Android over XP. Computex 2009 opens its doors for public on June 2nd, and we are waiting for it anxiously.
