Record sales for Vodafone, selling more than 50,000 iPhones 3GS in the UK
Good news for customers that are using Vodafone’s service in the UK, iPhone is put up for sale. According to The Independent, Vodafone had an impressive first day of sales, managing to sell more than 50,000 iPhones. Considering that Google sold 20,000 Nexus One devices in a full week, the sales that Vodafone had were enormous for one day.
A more interesting fact is that in the UK the iPhone is already sold by Orange, Tesco and O2(whose deal with Apple expired at the end of 2009) but Vodafone out sold Orange by a ratio of 5:3 for the first 24 hour period.

iPhone 3GS
This is what The Independent has to say:
“There had been fears the group would see customers move to rival operators as a result”. However, one company insider said: “When we didn’t get the iPhone initially, everyone predicted that customers would leave. These sales figures have proved that wrong.”
We were afraid that we will see a dispute between the phone service companies because Vodafone is selling the iPhone on a similar price to Orange and O2. Both Orange and Vodafone have instead looked to sell the device off the strength of their networks.
