HTC A9292 WiMax Phone AKA Supersonic To Be The Android Version Of The HD2
When we first spotted the HTC Leo and the HTC Dragon which eventually turned itself into the Google Nexus, we thought that it’s going to be the Android-version of the HTC HD2, but we were wrong. The Android HTC HD2 is codenamed Supersonic and it’s going to pack WiMax on board! Several days ago we presented a document from Sprint which showed a so-called HTC A9292 WiMax phone that was supposed to hit Sprint sometime in the future, and now here are some more details about the smartphone!
The HTC Supersonic will feature a 4.3″ non-AMOLED touchscreen, Android 2.1 OS, HTC Sense UI, a cool kickstand on its back, and a fast processor, probably Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon. The Sprint-bound WiMax phone will be available in several colors, and we cannot wait to get our hands on some more information.
The source seems to know what it’s talking about, though, Clear specifically said that it’s “not expecting any WiMax phones until 2011,” making us to believe that the tipster is wrong or the phone will be launched in 2011. That’s a long way to go, but we’ll be here… waiting.
