A few hours ago Skype went down, forcing people into depression, stress, and more, but everything “should” be OK right now. Skype was quick to acknowledge the problems and slightly quick to announce that the servers are now at full throttle, however, at the time of writing I cannot log into my account. According to Peter from Skype, if you were already signed in then you could have used the software without issues no matter if you were using it on your computer or your mobile device, but many users just couldn’t place a call.

Peter Parkes said that the Skype outage was caused by heavy traffic on the forums. The changes made by Peter and his team have definitely improved things, even though the problems are not entirely gone. Such things happen often: we’ve had BlackBerry, AOL, Twitter, and Hotmail outages in the past few weeks so we should be accustomed with them.
