Here is something cool that you should own. Why? Because it’s useful and it will save you a lot of money. This is Sabrent TV-DGUSB which is basically a Digital HDTV Tuner that can be connected to your computer via a USB 2.0 port. If you like free-to-air Digital TV, then this is the product you were looking for. The Sabrent TV-DGUSB USB 2.0 Digital HDTV Tuner is based on 64-QAM and 256-QAM which are very common when it comes to digital cable TV or other cable-modem applications.

The Sabrent TV-DGUSB USB 2.0 Digital HDTV Tuner will bring unencrypted Digital Cable TV to your PC at HDTV quality as it supports 1920×1080i video output. Thanks to this USB 2.0 Digital HDTV Tuner, your machine will become a DVR as you can play-back and record TV shows in full-original quality. This Digital HDTV Tuner comes with a remote control which gives you the possibility to change the channels, control the volume, record, stop recording, time shifting, and everything that a remote control does. The Sabrent TV-DGUSB USB supports Dolby Digital AC3 Audio Output which means that the sound quality is as great as it can be.

If you want the device to work perfectly, then you should have a system of minimum Pentium IV 2.4GHz, and 3.0GHZ for HDTV, 256MB of RAM which runs slow, but with 512MB RAM should work fine, 1 x USB 2.0 port (of course), a video card which supports at least DirectX 9.0, and it works only with Windows software – 2000, XP, or Vista so if you have a Linux-based PC or a Mac, you should say goodby to the Sabrent TV-DGUSB USB 2.0 Digital HDTV Tuner.

Purchased thru WOOT.COM— I and a lot of others received D.O.A. product.
Support from Sabrent non-existant, e-mails go unanswered. Will not buy any product with Sabrent name.

  2. lrowejr says:

I agree, states it is supposed to have QAM support but doesn’t worst product ever, not worth the plastic it is made out of, and even this site states it is supposed to have QAM support but yet Sabrent will not acknowledge the email request to find out the issue. I have no problem with the antenna, but this is supposed to work with cable also.

  3. MG says:

This is total junk. Over-the-air reception is marginal with chronic lag. Cable / QAM support and customer support are non-existent. It is supposed to be an HDTV tuner, but I suspect it never had it… Avoid!

  4. AO says:

    compile the driver from http://linuxhacksandfixes.blogspot.com/2009/05/sabrent-tv-dgusb.html
