During this year we have posted a lot of Windows Mobile-related articles and we found out that Microsoft will release more details about the OS at the Mobile World Congress 2010, that WinMo 7 is based on the Windows 7 CE, that a Zune Phone is in the making (probably more if it were to trust the Zune 4.2 update .inf file), and that several WinMo 7 phones are coming later this year. We cannot confirm all of the above, but CNET can do that thanks to some inside sources.

CNET’s ninjas say that Windows Mobile 7 will be demoed  at MWC 2010 and that a new phone with the ability to connect to Zune and to other Microsoft services will be released in mid-2010. It is said that the code will be completed by summer so that developers will have the possibility to create apps for the new environment.

After MWC next month in Barcelona, Microsoft will reveal even more details about Windows Mobile 7 and WM7 smartphones at the MIX10 trade show in March. CNET says that the device will become available before all other WM7 phones, but it’s unclear whether the Zune Phone will be running WinMo 7. Long story, short: the Zune phone is coming and you’ll hear more about it at MWC and MIX10.
