When putting a phone on a new carrier, even if the hardware is practical the same, you will always bump into lots of bugs. They are not necessary very harmful, but they can be very annoying.

For example Verizon MMS: if the WiFi is on, you can not send MMS messages. It looks like the issue is that MMS message need to go through Verizon’s EVDO network, but the Pre Plus in trying to send them over WiFi. The easiest way to solve the problem is turning WiFi off before sending MMS messages; so this should not be a great issue for Sprint users.

A second example is a more troubling one: Verizon Palm Pre Plus devices seems to have serious problems with its GPS. Tower-assisted AGPS works only with VZ Navigator.  The concern is that Verizon may play their lock-down shenanigans, but here it might not be the case because Verizon Palm Pixi Pluss apps are abel to get quick GPS locks. But we have a solution for you to get around this bug: open VZ Navigator (even if you did not bought it yet) before using GPS on other apps. GPS is a very fragile feature, so diagnosing it to details may take lots of time.

But help is on the way, because the PreCentral Forum Community is on the job.
