Google Broadband ISP Unveiled And Coming Soon For Up To 500,000 People
This is why I love Google: the search giant has introduced to the people an ISP service that will deliver 1Gbps internet speeds at very competitive prices. That’s a good thing as Google demonstrates once again how much it supports net neutrality and the fiber-based broadband will probably become available in select markets later in the year. Google invites you to share information about your area so that the company determine where it can build the network.
We love Google because Google provides free stuff like airport WiFi as well as WiFi networks and we cannot wait for the day when they’ll become available in more areas around the world. The Mountain View-based company will offer 1Gbps speeds to 50,000 to 500,000 users in the US with three goals in its mind: next-gen apps, new deployment techniques, and openness & choice. Google explains that it wants to see what apps can developers create for very high speeds, how to build uber-high speed fiber-based networks so that it can improve network deployment to the world, and it looks to provide open access networks for the people by supporting net neutrality.
Google acquired lots of dark fiber during recent years and now we will finally get to see the Google Net or googlenet. We should hear more news as of March 26th and until then check out the video below or get involved!
