Minor Nokia N900 Firmware Update 3.2010.02-8.002 Now Available For Download
Yesterday Nokia and Intel announced a merger between their Linux-based mobile operating systems so now Maemo and Moblin have become MeeGo. If you thought that the Finnish-based company forgot about you, then you were terribly wrong because you already know that Qt is coming to Maemo and MeeGo apps will definitely be supported by the N900. We don’t know for sure if the N900 will be upgradeable to MeeGo, but we DO know that Nokia has released a new N900 firmware update for your downloading pleasure.
If you go to the App Manager then you will see that you can download Nokia N900 firmware update 3.2010.02-8.002 which is a minor update that prepares a major update that will bring Qt to the internet tablet. The major N900 update should be release by the end of the February, but you should ask Peter from Maemo for more information.
The N900 PR1.1.1 V3.2010.02.8 comes with updates to the browser, operator wizard, Open GL ES 2.0, Hildon UI, WiFi, flasher, Skype, and the Call UI among others. There is no official changelog at the moment so you should read more at the Maemo.org forums where the community tries to discover what’s new in this update.
EDIT: Sorry for the misleading picture folks. The N900 FW doesn’t improve the Ovi Maps or anything, it wast just a poor pic choice. There, I fixed it!

Nokia N900

Hey can somebody help me!! Am trying to download this update but my N900 Shows a message (Memoria insuficiente en ubicacion de destino) or(Not enough memory in destination).
But i got check my memory and its says:
Nokia N900
23.31 GB free
Memory for aplications
1.56GB free
I don’t understand why i can’t download it.
Hi, you will need to uninstall some applications from the extras repository. If you want to know how to free Rootfs space then hit up this link: http://wiki.maemo.org/Free_up_rootfs_space
Be careful with the extras apps and remember to backup your phone before updating.
When I try to update on the N900, it says that to update my device with this version of the OS I should use Nokia’s software update application on my PC and plug the USB to the PC to do this.
However I don’t even own a Windows PC and I do not have this Nokia Software update application. What should I do? Is there any way to force the update via the phone?
I’ve got to the terminal, changed to root and tried to issue ‘apt-get dist-upgrade’ to see if there was any conflict, but there wasn’t any (of course I cancelled apt operation afterwards).
Got it. Had to remove ioquake3.
After I did that, it updated successfully.
Do not uninstall anything!!!
Do the following: (requires the rootsh package)
bring up an Xterminal
sudo gainroot
rm -rf /var/cache/apt/archives
ln -s /home/user/MyDocs/.apt-cache-archives /var/cache/apt/archives
Nokia forgot to put in that symlink before they released the device.

DO NOT FOLLOW THIS SCRIPT
It will gub the phone and make it a right pain in the bum to get back.

If you do have a Nokia N900, then go to App Manager, and hit update. Or connect your N900 to a computer and install the firmware via NSU (Nokia Software Updater).
I thought software update 3.2010.02-8.002 will correct the problem with dials such as *557#, *558#,etc. but I was wrong. These codes are used to load airtime or check airtime balance in the Country where I use my phone. My Nokia N900 displays a message “incorrect number” each time I dial the codes above. What should I do? What update will correct this software glitch from Nokia on th N900 phone?

If you update your Nokia N900 to PR1.2 Firmware, then you don’t need the USSD-Widget.
If you still want USSD Widget, then you can download it from the App Manager.
