The Government is trying to keep the Swine Flu under control, and although there aren’t too many guidance available, we have to treat ourselves. One of the antiviral drugs is called Tamiflu and it’s destined for adults and children aged one or above. Tamiflu has been recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration to prevent and treat the Swine Flu influenza in people. The FDA has released a special guidance only for emergency cases which says that some antiviral drugs can be used in mass dosing for mass population.
After the FDA approved Tamiflu, it was time for another antiviral drug to show up in order to prevent and treat people of H1N1. The other antiviral drug is called Relenza and it treats adults and children aged seven and above, while it prevents the flu in children aged five and older. If your child is aged 7 or less and he has been identified as infected with the Swine Flu then you should administrate him Tamiflu, not Relenza. Relenza can only prevent the Swine Flu in children aged between 5 and 7.

This week, the FDA has released an emergency guidance which gives Tamiflu the possibility to treat and prevent Swine Flu from affecting children aged one or less. The dosing is now like it was originally approved for children aged one and above. The FDA has announced that you don’t have to comply with the original requirements found on the label as this is an emergency situation.
I have to remind you that the FDA has approved a test which can diagnose Swine Flu. Also, the agency has approved taking samples from people which have a certain Swine Flu infection as there are a lot of virus subtypes which can’t be found using conventional tests. If the FDA gets samples from infected people, then it will be easier to find the virus subtypes in other people. Let’s all hope that the H1N1 Swine Flu ends soon as it has taken too many lives so far, and you probably heard these words: one life taken is one too many.

Didnt get the tamiflu until day 3 and today i feel much better than yesterday and day before. My son is taking the med too, he is high risk special needs.
