As the swine flu isn’t enough some people are trying to profit from this situation, which is something completely sad taking into account that the swine flu is a real danger to our lives, even though this flu takes a lot of bashing because of the connection with the word “pig”.
IntuApps has recently declared that they have an iPhone Swine Flu Map currently awaiting authorization for AppStore. Blogger and IntuApps worker Barry Schwartz uploaded some pictures on his blog . In this app you can see a map showing confirmed and suspected cases, the current Threat Level for the disease, a symptoms area to inform people, and an alert page for breaking news on Swine Flu. The good thing in this, ironically, is that the application will be available for everyone by being free of charge.

Now to talk a little about the A(H1N1) or Swine Flu. Although commonly called swine flu, this new strain has not been found in swine (pigs). The outbreak is believed to have started in March 2009 in the region of Mexico and the virus was clinically identified as a new strain on April 24 2009. At this moment it is rapidly spreading and it reached Europe on 28 April , with suspected and confirmed cases in Spain, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Israel. The death toll is currently at 12 official deaths in Mexico while the real number of deaths is considered to be 168. The United States has, at this moment, one death.
