LogMeIn to be available for the BlackBerry Storm
LogMeIn, in case you don’t know who they are or what they do here’s some brief info: LogMeIn is a pack of software services that provides remote access to computers over the Internet. They are designed for both end users and professional help desk personnel. Basically that translates by being able to access and control a Computer or a Mac over the internet from another machine. It is also worth mentioning that a LogMeIn port to iPhone is available since December 2008. LogMeIn recently announced at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2009 or WES09 for short that they will be introducing in the future (hopefully near future) a port of the LogMeIn app for the BlackBerry Storm. The app is still in its Alpha form while on display at the WES2009. The pricing will most likely be revolving around the $30 sum, just as the iPhone version. I haven’t had the opportunity to test out the app and unfortunately the iPhone port isn’t as flawless as one might expect. But the best way of finding out if this application is or isn’t for you is by giving it a go yourself. You just have to wait a bit until it will be launched.

Some important features:
- No firewall configuration necessary: This is LogMeIn’s primary strength over VNC and other widely available solutions – it’s very simple, even for the technically useless. No router configuration is necessary, nor do you need a static IP.
- Touch Screen Navigation/Keyboard: Zoom In/Out and pan around with the touchscreen, with full onscreen keyboard support
- 256-bit SSL encryption
- “My Computers” list: No remembering IPs – just tap to log in.

Wow, great blog. I love reading blogs about VoIP! It’s such an exciting technology. I have learned a lot in implementing a small VoIP network at home, and am thinking of starting VoIP business in my area. There are a number of small businesses in my region that would benefit from it greatly. Thanks again for this blog – it is really well-done.
