Best Buy to offer Palm Pre at $199 hassle-free
As the launch day for the Palm Pre is approaching, it is safe to say that the amount of info travelling back and forward on the internet is getting bigger and bigger.

Sprint announced yesterday that it will be offering the Pre at $199 only for the customers who send in a mail-in rebate. That means that you have to pay up-front $299 and then wait , and maybe wait a little more for your rebate of $100.
But, fortunately for you, the buyer, there might be a better solution over at Best Buy where you can buy the phone for &199 without involving any mail-in rebates. Pretty sweet huh? Indeed that’s what I say.
You’ll be able to find the Pre in Best Buy’s shelves starting on June 6Th but beware , stock may not be enough for everyone. Just as Dan Hesse told “We don’t intend to advertise it heavily early on because we think we are going to have shortages for a while,” so if you want to get your hands on one of these , be quick about it.
The Palm Pre will also be available at Radio Shack and select Wal-Mart stores throughout the country in addition to Best Buy stores, Sprint stores and Sprint.com
It would be a shame if I didn’t mention that the new Palm Pre is going to be released with the PalmOS replacement, namely the WebOS, which is a new multi-tasking operating system able to wirelessly synchronize a wide array of data with online services like Google and Facebook.
As you probably know, the Pre will have a sliding keyboard, a multi-touch-capable 3.1-inch display, 8 GB of on-board storage (7 GB available), Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and a 3.0 megapixel camera with LED flash.
The Europe and Latin-America version will be available in 2010 while the Canadian version will be released later this year.
