It was announced quite a while ago, however, it wasn’t released until now: the Android 1.5 Cupcake is now available for download in the US. Although the Android Cupcake will be available via the automatic updates, T-Mobile G1 owners can manually install the Android 1.5, but at their own risk. So if you cannot wait just a few more days and you like risking then you definitely should load the Android 1.5 Cupcake on your T-Mobile G1.

I have to let you know that root access is not required when you manually install the Android 1.5 OS, but you will have to follow some steps carefully and do exactly as it’s said. The Android Cupcake comes packed with exciting new features, and with a lot of bug fixes which should increase the joy of the Android experience. The Android 1.5 Cupcake brings a bunch of media updates like Raw Audio recording, APIs playback, MIDI Playback, improved browser, handsfree calls, listening via stereo Bluetooth, and better on-screen keyboard.
