Artist Draws The Cover For The New Yorker Using Brushes for iPhone App
It’s fun to be an artist especially when you draw the attention of the media, however, you can catch the eye of the public if you are not talented. This is what each human has: talent, and it’s the best to use it in a good way and to inspire other humans. The New Yorker is a weekly magazine, and this week it will feature an exclusive and unique cover created by artist Jorge Colombo. The artist used an iPhone application to draw the cover of The New Yorker.

Jorge Colombo is an iPhone user as of February 2009, and being an painter he decided to buy the Brushes app for $4.99. He loves the iPhone because it’s portable, accessible, and people don’t treat him like he’s a freak. He says that nobody thinks that he’s drawing as people believe that he checks his emails or he just sends messages. Also, Colombo says that the best thing is that he doesn’t have to carry his set of tools.
The artist drew the cover of the magazine in an hour while standing in front of the Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Times Square. First he drew the structures of the buildings, then the lights, the hot-dog stand, and the people.
The Brushes app is available now for download for only $4.99 and you can learn more about it here. The New Yorker magazine will be released on June 1, and my guess is that all units will be sold. Remember to check out the video above, and you will see how the artist made the cover.

What I find most impressive is that the artist worked on such a small canvas – the iphone (obviously). Great job, looking forward to seeing more.
