Nokia Ovi Store Now Available Worldwide
A few hours ago Nokia launched their Ovi Store in Australia and in other but few parts of the world, however, the Finnish firm decided to make their app store available for everybody so if you have a Nokia cellphone you can start downloading apps on it. We were expecting this to happen later, but we can’t complain and we can only thank Nokia that the Ovi Store is now live worldwide. The store is not restricted to any Nokia phones or any carriers, but of course some apps were designed for 5800 XpressMusic and others for E71, E75 etc.

The Nokia Ovi Store was previewed at CES in January this year where Nokia stated that Nokia N97 will come pre-installed with the store. However, from what we know, the client app for Ovi can be found in the Downloads folder of every Nokia smartphone, but first you will have to visit the store here and create a new Ovi Profile. Users have two payment choices – either via credit card, or via their phone bill.
Although it’s not as cool and full of apps like the Apple iTunes Store, the Ovi Store is pretty decent and I think it’s better than BlackBerry’s App World when it was launched. Users can download 3rd-party apps, audio and video files, ringtones, and wallpapers. Well, if you are a Nokia user then why don’t you head over at the Ovi Store website?
