Resident Evil 5 Sold In 5 Million Units, Says Capcom
Capcom is doing pretty well on this recession, or is the publisher only bragging? Well, we don’t know that, but we do know that Resident Evil 5 sales reached about 5 million and they are rising. According to Kazuhiko Abe, Capcom has a very strong demand for Resident Evil 5 and the game publisher sold about 4.4 million units only in March. It’s incredible, it’s a great achievement as the game was launched in March, and then April came and Capcom’s CFO said that they sold extra 570,000 units of Resident Evil 5 to reach about 4.97 million units.

Abe, Capcom’s CFO, said that the company’s revenues went up last financial year which ended in March with 11% to a total of $926.67 million while the net income raised with 3.3% to reach $80.77 million. Judging by these aspects Capcom is among the companies with the highest sales, and this is due to the Resident Evil 5, and Street Fighter IV which were launched in the Q4 of the financial year. We have to focus on Resident Evil 5 as it’s a great game which was described by Abe as a mega-hit.
In conclusion Abe wanted to remember us that the Resident Evil series was sold in more than 40 million units, and he said that Capcom will sell 1 million more units worldwide until March 2010. This may seem like a small amount, but trust us… it’s not as this would mean that a single game will sell in 6 million units. What more can we say? Congratulations to Capcom and we hope that they will release games even better than RE5.
