We’ve been noticing some rumors which said that a new Sony Vaio P is coming, but we didn’t believe that it will bet out too soon. Well, we were wrong as Sony has unveiled a new Vaio P version called Vaio P50. For the moment, the new Sony Vaio P will be available only on the Japanese market for a price between $750 to $850. The new Vaio P50 will show up in Japan at the same date as the Palm Pre in the US, June 6.

One of the good things that Sony did was to get rid of Windows Vista and now, Vaio P users will play around with Windows XP SP3. Personally I was thinking that Sony will add more RAM memory but that wouldn’t have been good enough as Atom processors don’t work well with Vista. The Sony Vaio P50 will feature an 1.3GHz Intel Atom Z250 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8-inch screen with a 1,600 x 768 resolution, 80GB HDD, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, WiFi, WAN, 2 x USB 2.0 slot, SD card/MMC interface, and a battery which will provide up to 4 hours of “life.”

Well, if you are willing to get one of these beauties then you will have to wait as Sony didn’t announce when the Vaio P50 will come to the stateside, but when it will be here you will be happy to know that you can upgrade to a 2.55GHz Intel Atom Z550 processor and to a 256GB SSD. We’ll be waiting and watching the new Sony Vaio P closely!
