Rumors said that Microsoft’s new search engine will be called Bing, not Kumo, as stated previously, and Steve Ballmer just confirmed the rumor. Bing should feature a simple, minimalist, and colorful interface, along with some interesting features, called “Instant Answers”, that will try to compete Wolfram Alpha.
There’s just one week left until the official release, on June 3rd.
Bing focuses on direct answers to questions, consumer product info, weather, health questions, and local interests. The guys at Ars Technica, who tested it, said it’s nothing revolutionary, maybe just evolutionary.
