What a wise kid! Actually, he’s brilliant! A 16-year-old has managed to “crack” one of the most renowned mathematics puzzle in the world in just four months. Mohamed Altoumaimi, 16, is an immigrant living in Sweden and he developed a formula which makes the Bernoulli numbers look like a piece of cake.

The Bernoulli numbers are a sequence of rational numbers related to the so-called Number theory. The first man who gave the name is called Abraham de Moivre who called the theory after it was discovered by Jacob Bernoulli in the 17th century. Bernoulli was a Swiss mathematician who developed a complex sequence of calculations, and Moivre decided to call the theory “Bernoulli numbers.”
Experts tried for more than 300 years to simply and to provide a better explanation for the Bernoulli numbers, but they didn’t manage to be as brilliant as Bernoulli. Until Altoumaimi showed up. The Iraqi kid moved to Sweden about six years ago. He lives in Falun, Sweden and the attends the high school there. His high school teachers didn’t believe that his easy formula is correct therefore he decided to write a letter to the professors at the Uppsala University, one of the most renowned institutions in Europe.
The professors at the Uppsala University were stunned by the achievements of Altoumaimi, and they said that his work is definitely correct and they decided to offer him a place at the university.
Mohamed Altoumaimi said that he enjoys mathematics and physics, and that he would love be a researcher in these domains, but first he said that he needs to improve his English and social sciences.

He wasnt the first.
It’s been solved before, and he wasnt admitted to the college.

This is one great news about the Iraq nation. I wish the world would now start to respect Iraq as one of the independent states.
Thumbs up to the boy, hope to hear more discoveries out of hime.
Great!
Ty, both articles clearly state that he was offered a place at the college. He wasn’t admitted, but if he so chose, he could apply, and then be admitted.
Could you please cite your source for it being solved before?
Here is a source that says it has been solved before:

Nope. Already solved. See the university website.
Bhekilr, read the link from Ty:
“The Falu Kuriren also reported Altoumaimi had been offered a place at Uppsala once he finishes high school, but the institution denied this was the case.”
Impressive for a 16 year old, yes, but hardly newsworthy.
