Rumor: Apple WWDC 2009 Bringing iPhone 3GS, But No Steve Jobs
Saturday, June 6, was the big day for Sprint and Palm as the Pre has been officially launched for the public. Monday, June 8, is the big day for Apple as the WWDC 2009 will take place and today we might see a series of new iPhones, the iPhone OS 3.0 might go live for all users, and we could also see a media tablet.

Apple WWDC 2009 is going to be a big one, says John Gruber of Daring Fireball. Mr. Gruber said that this year’s event will come with the iPhone 3GS. The new Apple smartphone will feature a faster processor, twice the RAM amount, twice the storage, and it will cost the same, $199 and $299 for the 16GB model, and 32GB respectively.
One of the most important features of the iPhone 3GS will be the video camera. Gruber also mentions a cheaper iPhone which will cost $99. He said that this could be a new device and it will be “to the iPhone what the iPod mini was for the iPod,” but Apple could also reduce the price of the current 8GB iPhone 3G.
Gruber acknowledges the existence of the iPhone nano, however, it will not be unveiled today at Apple’s WWDC 2009, while the media tablet or the tablet pad will also delay its presence at the event.
Another thing that might be unveiled is Marble, “a real design project at Apple,” but Gruber says that it’s not designed for the Snow Leopard because the OS will be shipped soon and this means that 3rd party developers don’t have “enough time” to develop apps that go well with the new UI.
I’m surprised that Gruber didn’t mention Steve Jobs. Does this mean that Apple’s guru will not be present? We’ve seen all the rumors about Jobs’ recovery and that he will make a surprise appearance at the Apple WWDC 2009, but these could stay at the rumor stage.
Stick with us, we will tell you more as soon as something new surfaces!
